Autobiography
My name is Margarita Isabel María Lalor Cavanagh. I was born in
Buenos Aires on a cold day, on the 25th of July of 1946.
My story is an ordinary story: second daughter in a family of five
siblings, three women and two men. A family of Irish ancestry
and fervent Catholics. I was really happy during my childhood. I
got my High School degree in “Sagrado Corazón” School and I
became a Catechist teacher as well. I used to draw very well, I
was keen on languages; I worked and saved money in order to
travel around the world. I took some courses on “History of Art”
and have always loved the country; I was also dating José Yanzón.
By 1968 my health problems started. It was exasperating: day after
day I started losing strength: my left hand, my speak and one
foot. I was diagnosed ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) a
progresive, neuromuscular and generally terminal disease. I
woulnd’t believe it. |
